The folk band “Lóca” plays hungarian traditional folk songs and pieces of folk music of ‘csángó’ people who live in ‘Moldova’ in Romania. Lóca offers concerts for adults and they also play for children and families in Hungary. They released their debut album this year which contains their own versions of hungarian folk songs.
Yukatengi is a violin and drum duo from Hungary. They play “post-folk.” The members have played in legendary hungarian experimental and world music bands like Úzgin Űver, Navrang and Trottel, and now they play in Lóca, among others. Their aim is to create a gripping sound with their instruments. Yukatengi plays energetic, playful and sophisticated music based on heavy drums and modified violin.
Mansanas is the acoustic / meditative / ambient music project of the hungarian drummer and percussionist Krisztian Almasi who plays, amongs others, in the folk band Lóca and in the post-folk band Yukatengi. Calm, simple, repetitive and relaxing „sansula” music full of emotions. Sansula is a version of the african instrument „kalimba”. Beautiful little melodies about love, nature, peace, harmony and the fragility of human life. The experience is the most comfortable and humble journey along the borderline of sound and silence. Mansanas released his debut album called „Torus” this year.
